About me
Hi! I’m Ashly Gutierrez, a biomedical engineer from La Paz, Bolivia—one of the highest cities in the world.
During my university projects, I worked on tissue engineering, especially scaffold design, and on extracting and characterizing collagen from endemic Bolivian species, particularly sábalo (Prochilodus lineatus). I explored its properties and its potential as a biomaterial for skin regeneration and wound healing.
Currently, I work in hospital management and technical analysis of medical equipment, but I’m eager to return to research, especially in biomaterials and synthetic biology applications in biomedical engineering.
I’m excited to join HTGAA Spring 2026 to strengthen my research skills and learn new tools and approaches.
