Yaisa Arteaga — HTGAA Spring 2026
Hi, I’m Yaisa!
Bioengineering undergraduate exploring the intersection of biology, computation and design.
About me
I’m a final-year Bioengineering undergraduate student at UTEC (Universidad de Ingeniería y Tecnología) with a strong interest in computational biology, bioinformatics, and AI-driven biological design.
My work spans biomaterials, biological systems and computational analysis. I’m especially interested in how engineering tools can be used to solve real-world problems in health and life sciences.
I am currently working on my final-year thesis focused on the computational design of an intrauterine device (IUD) optimized for controlled drug release and real-time monitoring of the uterine microenvironment, aimed at improving treatment strategies for patients with endometrial adenocarcinoma.
