Project Description

Development of a platform for culturing intestinal spheroids (from cell lines, such as Caco-2) for studying drug absorption and/or diagnosing IBD.

Additionally, the project includes software capable of directly analyzing data from the cultures, such as protein expression (ABC transporters), as well as proteomics, metabolomics, and genomics information.

Initially, the results will be used to propose working hypotheses. As the project progresses, the platform is expected to become a predictive tool that could be applied to early diagnosis or to estimate treatment outcomes.
