Week 1 HW: Principles and Practices
Bio-Inspired Fashion Photo Credits: Iris van Herpen First, describe a biological engineering application or tool you want to develop and why. This could be inspired by an idea for your HTGAA class project and/or something for which you are already doing in your research, or something you are just curious about. Fashion is intrinsically tied to one’s identity, and I want to engender a fabric that can allow people to express themselves and their values while respecting the environment. Currently, the vast majority of ecologically sustainable fashion focuses on minimizing environmental harm; however, many have yet to explore how fashion can be an avenue to reverse terrestrial and aquatic destruction!
