Hi! I’m Sophia. Let me tell you a little bit about me…

I’m from Athens, Greece.

I got my Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Patras, in Western Greece.

During my Bachelor’s, I was captivated by Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, and Synthetic Biology. I already knew that my greatest passion lay in research, so after finishing my undergraduate studies and months of seeking what could be meaningful as my next step, I landed a nine-month research internship in the Laboratory of Enzyme and Synthetic Biotechnology at the National Hellenic Research Foundation (NHRF).

Parallel to my internship, I also became a member of the iGEM Athens 2022 Team and contributed to developing and executing our project, “PERspectives”. You can check out our work here!
