After looking into other possible projects, I decided to focus on psoriasis because I have this condition myself. I want to understand whether biomanufacturing could help address the immune response behind it.
My idea is to produce mRNA encoding a human protein called ADAMTSL5. Researchers have identified this protein as one of the targets of the immune response in psoriasis. That is why I want to explore it. The longer-term question is whether delivering this antigen in the right context could help the immune system tolerate it.
