Carson Billingsley — HTBAA Fall 2026
About me
Carson Billingsley is thrilled to be an active biomanufacturer at full scale! He is a 2024 graduate of the UC Berkeley M.Eng in Bioengineering, concentrating in Synthetic Biology. Carson currently works as a Process Engineer at Novonesis, the world’s largest industrial manufacturing company, where he helps streamline the biomanufacturing of enzymes that support consumer products and make industrial and agricultural processes more sustainable and efficient. Previously at Novonesis, Carson worked in strategy and public affairs, focusing on strengthening Novonesis’s external partnerships and positioning. Right after graduate school, Carson worked as a Policy Analyst with the National Security Commission on Emerging Biotechnology in Washington D.C. (referenced by David in Lecture #1!), helping to develop legislative recommendations for a final report for Congress regarding U.S. biotechnology leadership and investment. Carson also holds a Biotechnology Bachelor of Science from Indiana University.
