About me

Celine Meunier is a French visual artist working primarily with analog photography. Her practice explores the relationships between individual and collective identity, transmission, and the ways images are produced and shaped by their environments. She is a founding member of Le P’tit Bain, a photographic laboratory where she experiments with alternative, historical, and more ecological photographic processes.

Alongside her artistic practice, she works professionally on innovative finance for biodiversity conservation. Her work involves regular interaction with scientists, biologists, and emerging biotechnologies, and has led to publications on biodiversity finance. This experience has strengthened her interest in ecological systems and in interdisciplinary approaches connecting scientific research, technology, and creative practice.

She is now developing a research-based practice at the intersection of photography, living systems, and image-making. Her interest in biomanufacturing comes from a desire to explore how biological processes could become active participants in the production of images—not simply as subjects to be photographed, but as materials, agents, and systems capable of generating visual information. Through the How to Biomanufacture Almost Anything program, she hopes to deepen her understanding of biological fabrication and explore how these approaches could open new possibilities for photography, ecological thinking, and artistic practice.
