About me

I’m Erum Azeez Khan, a partner at Messaginglab, a strategic communications firm working with biotech and pharma clients. I have a drug development, healthcare, and tech background, including six years of pharma lab expertise (J&J, GSK). I joined a “climate nanotech startup” that built a reactor that converts carbon emissions into carbon nanomaterials. After that, I was co-founder and CEO of an voice assistant SaaS company that was acquire, and now I’m in the world of biotech strategy & communications. I hold a B.S. in Forensic Chemistry & Toxicology from West Chester University of Pennsylvania, class of 2005.

I’m currently building an early-stage biotech commercialization platform that licenses bio-based innovations to consumer brands. I also co-host Grow Everything, a podcast covering industrial, consumer, and climate biotech. That combination, watching which biotech innovations actually make it out of the lab and into products people use, is what drew me to this course. I’m especially interested in the color space: natural dye companies have solved red, blue, and yellow, but nobody’s cracked a biomanufactured white yet, and that’s the gap I want to dig into this semester.
