I would like to manufacture biomaterials for burns. I see this as a big problem because it has cost too many lives. In countries like Ecuador, burns do not have a first aid product that could help reduce the damage that could be caused by the remaining heat. For this reason, I would like to construct a biomaterial that could hold bioactives from fruits and growth factors to reduce inflammation and remaining damage. I consider this an important issue abroad because in some homes there are children who could be burned unintentionally because they are playing or exploring. I do not want to find guilt at home; I want to give parents support in case their children get burned. I would like to program fibroblasts to produce a thin film rich in extracellular proteins such as collagen, fibronectin, laminin, and gelatin, and Fibroblast Growth Factors to replace the burned proteins, to be loaded in a hydrogel matrix. These proteins are essential for the development of first aid for burns because they can be dried. Therefore, it can be a dried product that just needs water to act and could be preserved for a long time.

Week 2 HW: DNA Design

Project Overview For this project, I want to potency my current hydrogel for burn wound healing by adding it extracellular matrix proteins (ECM) and growth factors (GF). So, following this idea, the DNA design will focus on the production of the ECM and GF.

Week 3 HW: Cell-Free Protocols

CFPS REACTION DESIGN FOR SFGFP, PETASE, RETEPLASE GOAL: using the collective intelligence of the HTBAA community and accessible AI systems, design novel CFPS reaction compositions for each of the three target proteins: sfGFP, PETase, and Reteplase to reduce the cost per gram of functional protein. Each design should be compatible with the experimental framework described above and should reflect the distinct expression and folding requirements of that protein. You can learn more about the details of the coopetition.

Final Project
