Yash Sawant — HTGAA Spring 2026
About me
Hi, I’m Yash Sawant, a biotechnology postgraduate student from Mumbai, India. I am also a HTGAA 2025 graduate. I am currently a Global Teaching Assistant in How to Grow (Almost) Anything (HTGAA) 2026 as part of Bioclub Tokyo
My interests lie at the intersection of synthetic biology and bioinformatics,. I am particularly interested in building biological systems that can solve real world health problems.
For my HTGAA 2025 final project, I designed a synthetic riboswitch-based genetic circuit to detect acetone as a volatile biomarker for diabetes monitoring.
Other than this, I enjoy Good music, films, and teaching, and I am always looking forward to collaborating with people working in computational biology.
